The 9th edition of the African Movie Academy Awards was held in Yenegoa, Bayelsa on Saturday, April 20, 2013, with the theme – ‘Africa One’. It was hosted by Ama K. Abebrese and in attendance were a host of celebrities from the entertainment industry.

The Nigerian film ‘Confusion Na Wa’ emerged champion, winning the prize for Best Film.
Late Justus Esiri was awarded the post-humous trophy for Best Actor in a leading role while Gabriel Afolayan received the Supporting Actor nod.
